Exhibition at 'The lighthouse' in Glasgow

The Art on Site public art project of the Construction of the New Museum and Archives will be on Display at the Lighthouse in Glasgow.

Art on Site: A photographic archive of the construction of the Shetland Museum and Archives

In 2005, photographer Mark Sinclair embarked on an ‘Art on Site’ public art project funded by Shetland Amenity Trust to document the restoration and construction of the Shetland Museum and Archives at Hays Dock, Lerwick. Designed by architects BDP with the restoration of the dock led by Nicolas Groves Raines, Sinclair took photographs of the entire construction process of this dynamic new building on site right up to and immediately after it opened to the public in May 2007. This exhibition presents a selection of black and white images taken from a series of over 500 photographs depicting the development of the museum over 2 years.
